In 1765, the British government imposed a stamp act on all American colonies. This tavern was later renamed the Liberty Tavern. Little did they know that these meetings sowed the seeds of revolution and ideals of a new nation. The Liberty Tavern was named in honor of our founding forefathers, sacrifices they made in the face of liberty, and in remembrance of the original Liberty Tavern.
